Mooky - A three-year old Italian Greyhound in New York
Mooky is a three-year old, fourteen pound, Italian Greyhound in need of a new home due to housetraining issues. He will go outside or on doggy pee pads, but has fairly frequent accidents, both urinating and defecating in unacceptable indoor locations. Mooky is crate trained and is accident-free in his crate. An adopter with the willingness to work on housetraining is needed (Italian Greyhound Place will share information and provide support if desired).
Mooky is very sweet, gentle and affectionate. Although he is a cuddly lapdog, Mooky also enjoys exercise and tends to be active when his people are. This guy is also good with other dogs; lives peacefully with a cat and child; rides nicely in the car, and is well-behaved on leash. He loves to be near you, or in sight of you. Mooky is quite responsive to requests and learns quickly.
If you are interested in having a sweet Italian Greyhound boy as a companion, are accepting of accidents and willing to work on housetraining, please contact Italian Greyhound Place.Additional photos here. (Listed 2/6/13)
Italian Greyhound Place is pleased to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of Mooky to an incredible woman in New York, who has been telling him, "This is your forever home." In addition to his person, Mooky also has the companionship of a cat. Mooky was adopted on 3/15/13!
Bullet - A twelve-year old Italian Greyhound in Connecticut
"No dogs allowed." That is the policy where Bullet's owners are moving, and, therefore, this twelve-year old, nineteen pound guy needs a new home prior to the scheduled move. Although a senior, Bullet still runs around, enjoys playing with his toys, and has retained his curiosity. He is gentle and very friendly, and this friendliness extends to dogs (not to cats). Bullet is housetrained to go "outside," either in an enclosed area or during walks; he is very good on-leash. There are occasional accidents - although not often, they tend to occur when he is left alone for too long. Bullet is not crate trained and does not do well when crated. However, he is not a jumper and a baby gate would be an option to limit his access to certain areas when left home alone. Regarding his health, Bullet has been on phenobarbital since 2010 and has been seizure-free since on medication; is on medication for thyroid and is symptom-free; and had a dental cleaning this past May - he only has ten teeth remaining.
If you are interested in reaching out to Bullet and providing him with the home and love that he needs, please contact Italian Greyhound Place. (Listed 2/27/13)
Italian Greyhound Place is pleased to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of Bullet to a wonderful family in Rhode Island who, once viewing Bullet's information on-line, were immediately drawn to him and the many characteristics he shares with their twelve-year old, small dog. Bullet was adopted on 3/5/13!
Mia - A five-year old Italian Greyhound in Kentucky

After the loss of their thirteen-year old Italian Greyhound, the couple adopted another Italian Greyhound and have now also welcomed Mia to their home. Since one person is retired, Mia has lots of human companionship, as well as a fenced yard to play with her new Italian Greyhound friend in. Mia was adopted on 1/20/13!
Twiggy - A seven-year old Italian Greyhound in West Virginia
Italian Greyhound Place is pleased to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of Twiggy to a wonderful, Italian Greyhound experienced couple in Pennsylvania. Twiggy was in need of a home without young children and where he would have the opportunity for increased human companionship which, since one of his new humans works from home, he now has. With the assistance and commitment of his new owners, Twiggy is also learning to be less fearful. Twiggy was adopted on 1/19/13!
Ziggy - A five-year old (in December) Italian Greyhound in New York
Ziggy is a wonderful boy who is coming into the care of Italian Greyhound Place due to unfortunate lifestyle changes of his owner (divorce, foreclosure, bankruptcy, unemployment, and a necessary move).
Ziggy was diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago and receives two insulin injections, twice daily, after meals. Therefore, it is necessary for his adopter to accept and be willing and able to care for this condition.
"The happiest, sweetest, most gentle dog I have ever known," is how Ziggy's owner describes him. He loves to cuddle on your lap or under covers, but has an active side as well. Outgoing, with no tendency to be aloof, Zigs adores children, lives with a cat, and loves other dogs. Due to his social ability, he tends to pull on his leash when he sees people (something that could be worked on, without making him less social!). His favorite play companion is currently a dachshund who lives near him, and he enjoys visiting the dog park and playing with other small dogs (large dogs could inadvertently hurt him). Ziggy is housetrained ("goes" outside and on doggy pee pads), and does not have accidents or mark in his current home. Since Ziggy does not like his crate, when he has to be left alone, he stays in the kitchen with the cat. He travels nicely in the car.
If you are interested in sharing your love with a fantastic Italian Greyhound, please contact Italian Greyhound Place. Another dog or cat in the home would be ideal. (Listed 11/18/12).
Italian Greyhound Place is pleased to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of Ziggy to a veterinarian technician in Connecticut with a love for animals. In addition to his new human companion, Ziggy also has two Dachshund friends. Ziggy was adopted on 12/28/12!
