Baby and King
Welcome to Italian Greyhound Place, Baby and King!
Baby and King are being fostered with the intent to adopt

Adopted!
Adoption information below listing

Baby and King, a bonded pair of four and five-year-old Italian Greyhounds were welcomed to Italian Greyhound Place by their fosters who are fostering with the intent to adopt. Their fosters had a Greyhound and also fostered Greyhounds coming off the “track,” and had made the decision to transition to Italian Greyhounds – a decision which has been fantastic for Baby and King!
With both of their fosters working from home, Baby and King are receiving lots of love and attention and, although they have a fenced yard, enjoy going for walks in their new neighborhood and to the gardening location where their fosters volunteer. Baby and King are scheduled for veterinary appointments and more will be posted following that.
A tremendous thanks to Baby and King’s fosters. From working with Italian Greyhound Place, preparing to welcome Baby and King, traveling to get them, and offering them a fantastic environment, Baby and King’s fosters have been incredible to work with and their patience with the dogs as they transition to their home is greatly appreciated.
Italian Greyhound Place would also like to thank Baby and King’s previous owner who had “taken them in” in order to ensure that they would have a safe and happy future; she played a vital role in having that occur for them.
Baby and King – Four and five-year-old Italian Greyhounds in PA
Foster with Intent to Adopt Pending

Baby and King are a bonded pair of Italian Greyhounds in need of a new home together. They were taken in by a compassionate, breed-experienced woman in order to improve their situation and ensure that their future would be happy and safe; with six dogs of her own, plus cats, she is not in a position to offer them a permanent home.

Baby is a four-year-old, fawn female who weighs about twelve pounds, while King, who is blue and white, is five-years-old and on a weight-reduction regimen – he currently weighs thirty-two pounds. King had lab work done which included a thyroid panel and all results are normal – he does not have hypothyroidism. With the continuation of a good diet and exercise, he should continue to slim down.
The following requests have been made for Baby and King’s new home:
-
No children – although not aggressive, King was jealous of the baby in his previous home
-
A fenced yard – must be six-foot high
-
Italian Greyhound experience
And, of course, lots of love!
These two Italian Greyhounds are doing exceptionally well in their temporary home and are great dogs. The woman caring for them is continually impressed with how well they are acclimating and “coming out of their shells.”
Baby, now also called Lulu, and King, now also King Charles and Charlie, are house trained to potty outside, with Fawn also being trained to use doggy training pads and King using them if he “has to.” They are accident-free in their current home.
Although not crate trained, Baby and King, when left alone, do fine in a gated area of the kitchen; they are doing great on-leash and love to go for walks (King was taken jogging and also enjoyed that); are currently living with other dogs and do great with them – Baby, especially, loves to play with them; and, after being introduced to the cats, are fine with them, although a bit uncertain of them!

Both Baby and King, who are fairly high-energy, are lovable and friendly; King does take some time to warm to people, but once he does, is very loving. Baby gives kisses and King will put his paws on your shoulders and give hugs.

Italian Greyhound Place always puts an emphasis on safety, but please be aware that King will try to exit doors and scale a fence. His tendency to dart out a door or attempt to get over a fence will be more pronounced when he is acclimating to a new home, but an adopter should not become complacent.
If you would like to consider sharing your home and love with these two, sweet Italian Greyhounds, please contact Italian Greyhound Place.

Baby and King Adopted!
Great news for Baby and King - they have been adopted by their fosters who were fostering with the intent to adopt! These two Italian Greyhounds could not have found a better forever home; their fosters have shown dedication, patience, and love working with Baby and King and stated, "We know we still have a lot of work with them, but they've become part of our home. We're confident moving forward with the adoption."
Baby and King have two people who work from home, a fenced yard, neighborhood walks to enjoy, outings to the gardening location where their new people volunteer, and, of course, lots of love and attention. King has started training classes (a great choice to boost his confidence) and "quickly picks up what's being taught and seems to enjoy going."
A huge thanks to Baby and King's adopters for fostering and providing Baby and King with their forever home.
Italian Greyhound Place would also like to thank the woman who took in Baby and King and worked with Italian Greyhound Place to ensure that they would have a wonderful future.
