Adopted Dogs - Winter 2023/2024

Welcome to Italian Greyhound Place Wendy!

Wendy is being fostered with the intent to adopt

Wendy was welcomed into the care of Italian Greyhound Place by her breed experienced fosters who are fostering with the intent to adopt. This little one, although loving and affectionate with those she bonds with, is also very timid. Wendy is displaying less and less timidness with her fosters and is doing great! She does very well on walks, is playing, doing “zoomies,” and “her tail goes a mile a minute.” Her foster is so pleased with how Wendy is “really becoming the happy, little girl.” Given the patient approach of her fosters, the fact that Wendy basically always has someone home with her, and that she has a sweet, calm canine companion, that is not surprising!!!

Wendy has had an initial veterinary appointment and will be receiving additional veterinary care, including a spay and dental surgery.

A huge thanks to Wendy’s foster (and her family) for welcoming Wendy.

Italian Greyhound Place would also like to thank Wendy’s previous owner for working with Italian Greyhound Place to ensure that Wendy would have a safe, happy future.

Following her spay and dental procedures, Wendy will be adopted by her foster

Following numerous veterinarian appointments, including spay and dental procedures, Wendy has been adopted by her foster who was fostering with the intent to adopt. Wendy has found a truly wonderful home, with her people sharing, “Wooooohoooooo!!!! We are so excited that she is officially a part of our family!!!! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to love her!!!!!!! She is such a little spitfire and brings us so much joy and love." Wendy is thriving with the love and attention she receives and is fortunate to have people primarily home; a canine companion she has bonded with; walks and outings to go on; and a secured deck to enjoy. A big thanks to Wendy’s adopter!

Adopted!

Wendy - A four-year-old Italian Greyhound in the Northeast

Foster with Intent to Adopt Pending!

Wendy 3R3.jpg

Wendy is a small, four-year-old Italian Greyhound whose owner is unable to continue caring for her and her main request is that Wendy have a truly loving new home. Since Wendy is not accustomed to staying alone (occasionally for one to three hours), a home where someone will primarily be home with Wendy is desired.

This little one is very sweet and loving (she gives hugs and kisses!), is great with children (is living with older children), and travels well by car. Regarding barking, she barks if visitors enter the house or walk by and tends to bark if she views a dog. She has a medium (average) activity level; she is content to relax inside, but loves the opportunity to run. Although super sweet, Wendy is described by her current owner as being anxious, skittish and timid. When left alone, Wendy is given free-roam of the house - she does not like to be crated and gets very anxious if in one.

Wendy is house trained to potty outside and on doggy pee pads. She does have accidents, primarily when left alone or not kept on a schedule.

Since Wendy is not accustomed to being walked, she will need to be acclimated to leash-walking (Italian Greyhound Place will be glad to provide information on loose-leash walking).

If you are interested in offering Wendy a new home filled with lots of love and attention, please contact Italian Greyhound Place.
