Spartacus - A three-month old Italian Greyhound puppy in NY

A young Italian Greyhound available for adoption in NY

This adorable, little guy was obtained with the best of intentions, but his owner has realized that she does not have sufficient time to care for a puppy. Spartacus is a high-energy boy (he likes to run through the house at full-speed), who is spunky, smart, and a bit mischievous. At only twelve-weeks of age, he is not yet housetrained, but is learning to use pee-pads. Despite his young age, Spartacus is a pro at being lovable. If you are ready to enjoy and care for a puppy, please contact Italian Greyhound Place. (Listed here 2/17/11)

Italian Greyhound Place is pleased to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of Spartacus to a wonderful couple in MA where he and the couples other Italian Greyhound are greatly enjoying each other. Spartacus was adopted on 3/6/11!

Oreo - A seven-year old Italian Greyhound in MI

Adoptable Italian Greyhound in MI

Oreo is a wonderful Italian Greyhound whose owners have made the hard decision to re-home him because, with their daughter away at college, he is alone for twelve hours each work day. Oreo is housetrained to use a litter box (with shredded paper in it), and does not have accidents or mark in his current home. He will also go outside when playing in the yard. Oreo likes short walks in the warm months, but is not a fan of cold weather. When left alone, Oreo is given full roam of his current home; he is not accustomed to a crate and is not destructive, generally snuggling under the covers on a bed or under a blanket on the couch. Oreo is good with children, good with dogs once he has met them and been around them for awhile, and has not been exposed to cats. This guy is most active in the afternoon and evenings, when he likes to run around and loves to play catch with small toys and balls. In the warm weather, he loves to run around his fenced yard. When tuckered out, he enjoys cuddling under a blanket on the couch next to his person. Oreo is very affectionate; he gives kisses and likes to be with his person (people) when they are home. Oreo turned seven-years-of-age this past October and weighs eighteen pounds. If you are looking for a well-behaved, affectionate Italian Greyhound, please contact Italian Greyhound Place.  (Listed here 1/29/11)

Italian Greyhound Place is please to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of Oreo to a very dog-oriented family in MI. Oreo will have one of his new people home with him each day, the whole family to love him, and two canine companions, one of which is an Italian Greyhound, to play with. Oreo was adopted on 2/5/11!

Jasmine - A one-year old Min Pin / Italian Greyhound mix in MA

This solid red girl is very lucky to have been rescued by the person currently caring for her - Jasmine was kept inside by her original owner, tied with a five-foot leash to a fireplace. Frustrated (of course), Jasmine would bark, so her former owner used shock collars and taped her mouth. Jasmine's rescuer has two dogs of her own and cannot keep her.  Therefore, Jasmine needs a forever person (or people) to give her love, attention, and care. Despite what her life had been like, Jasmine is extremely affectionate and loving. She is also playful, whether it be with adults, children, or other dogs. Her energy is not constant, but comes in bursts - she can be playing with high energy and then, if you pick her up and cuddle her, she calms right down. Jasmine does get excited if people come to her current home or if there is a loud, unexpected noise - these occurrences often cause her to have a small amount of involuntary urinary incontinence. When tethered to the fireplace, Jasmine was housetrained to use a litterbox, although her current caretaker is teaching her to go outside. Jasmine loves going in the car and, although her caretaker has only had Jasmine on leash a few times, she walks fairly well. She is also crate trained. As far as barking, Jasmine is not a constant "barker;" she only barks at things such as a new person entering, or knocking on the door. If you would like a small (approximately ten pound), canine companion to love, please contact Italian Greyhound Place. (Listed here 1/23/11)

DJ - A nineteen-month old Italian Greyhound in CO

Italian Greyhound in CO for adoption

This handsome little guy was born on May 28, 2009 and weighs ten pounds. DJ has a high level of energy, is very sweet and loving, and loves attention. He is housetrained to use a litterbox (but will also go outside) and does not have accidents or mark in his current home. When left alone he stays in his crate; if given free run of the house when no one is home, he tends to become destructive. DJ is curious about other dogs, but also scared of them, and does like to go in the car. Since his current owner got him at two-months of age, DJ has been jittery when reached for and, if he feels that he is in danger, will "scream." His current owner is unable to provide DJ with the care and exercise he needs, so DJ needs an adopter to share his sweetness and love with. If you are interested in sharing your love and home with DJ, please contact Italian Greyhound Place.  (Listed here 1/21/11)

Italian Greyhound Place is pleased to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of DJ to a very welcoming family in CO. DJ will have human companions, a canine friend, and a fenced yard to play in. DJ was adopted on 1/26/11!

An Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua in CA for adoption

Riley - A four-year old Italian Greyhound in CA

Riley is a nineteen pound, male Italian Greyhound with lots of love to share with someone. His current owners have had him for about two and one-half years. When they got him, Riley had alot of fears (of men, doors, feet, strangers, noise, etc.), but he has made great progress and, through gentle exposure, has improved greatly. However, Riley is still a somewhat nervous dog. He has a fairly low activity level, and loves to snuggle with his person and go for walks. In fact, that is what Riley needs most - someone that is home most of the time and can spend time with him. With two other dogs, demanding work schedules, and living conditions that will be changing, Riley's current owners feel that it would be best if a new home was found for him. Although Riley gets along with other dogs, his current owners feel that he would do better as the only dog. Riley has alot going for him - he is housetrained to go outside during walks and to use a litter box, he does not have accidents or mark in his current home, he is crate trained, travels well in the car (in his crate), walks nicely on leash (although he is a bit nervous) and is very loving when he feels safe. Riley's current home has a fenced yard, and his owners would like his new home to have one too. If you are home alot and would like to share your love and kindness with an Italian Greyhound with a sensitive personality, please consider Riley. For more information, please contact Italian Greyhound Place. (Listed here 9/10/10)

Italian Greyhound Place is pleased to have arranged and facilitated the adoption of Riley to a work-at-home woman in California who is excited to be welcoming Riley into her home. Riley was adopted on 12/11/10!

Four-year old Italian Greyhound in TN for adoption

Now, approximately three years later, Katie's owner has found herself overwhelmed with the care of a baby and four dogs, and Katie needs to find a forever home. Katie is housetrained, with no accidents in her current  home, walks nicely on leash, is good with dogs and cats, and is very sweet and affectionate. She is good with small children, but if they move quickly, she will chase them. Katie can display a high activity level at times, but when inside, she tends to relax, finding her person when she wants some cuddles. Katie weighs twenty pounds.
